The Edit
The standard behind the edit — why a piece earns its place at Viro Designs, and what "handled by us" actually means.

There is no shortage of furniture. There is a shortage of furniture worth living with.
Viro Designs began from a simple frustration: it is genuinely hard, as a buyer, to tell a considered piece from a well-photographed one. A sofa can look right on a screen and feel wrong in a room — the proportions a little off, the materials thinner than they seemed, the price attached to a name rather than the thing itself. Our answer isn't to make more. It's to choose better, and to stand behind what we choose.
So this is the standard behind the edit.
Before materials, before finish, a piece has to sit right — the height of a seat, the depth of a table, the weight of a frame against the space around it. Good proportion is quiet; you notice its absence more than its presence. We pass on pieces that photograph beautifully and live awkwardly.
We look for surfaces that are what they appear to be — solid where it should be solid, stone that is stone, weaves and finishes that wear in rather than out. Honest materials age with grace; the shortcuts show within a season. If we can't describe exactly what a piece is made of, it doesn't make the cut.
Joinery, frames, mechanisms — the parts you don't see on the showroom floor. Furniture earns its keep over years, not in the first week.
We choose pieces for how they'll hold up in five years — not how they look on day one.
We'd rather carry fewer things at prices we can justify than a wall of options padded with margin. Fair means the price reflects the piece, not the marketing around it.
That's what "curated" means to us — not a mood board, but a filter. We study the world's best modern design, select the pieces that clear every one of these bars, and bring them to homes here and abroad.
And the part that doesn't fit in a product photo: we handle what comes after. Delivery, setup, and after-sales are ours — not a courier's problem, and not yours. A piece isn't really chosen well if getting it into your home is an ordeal.
Everything in our collections — Hawthorne, Carrara, Sinclair, Marlowe and the rest — has been through this. If it's here, it's because it earned a place.
